Dost

VROEGH designed and developed a touring bike and compact cargo bike. The bikes share the same cast parts of the front frame to keep the number of parts low, lower mould costs, and stand out with the unique brand language.

Value delivered

VROEGH designed and developed a strong e-bike tailored to cyclists carrying heavy cargo safely. Unlike typical consumer bikes, this project emphasised Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) as a key metric, aligning with Swapfiets’ business model. The result is a component-agnostic e-bike with long battery life, unique geometry, and stable handling under heavy load. Production has started, and the first bikes are already in Paris and Amsterdam.

A vehicle that is hard to break and easy to maintain

Making Dutch bicycle culture ready for the North American market

We partnered with Dost to bring a cargo bike designed specifically for the American market, built for those who need extra carrying capacity without sacrificing performance or style. With a powerful motor, long-range battery, and a spacious crate, the Dost eCargo bike fits seamlessly into daily life: running errands, commuting, or weekend adventures

Modularity as USP

A single bike that adapts to your life. We developed a modular accessory system that lets riders configure their Dost to fit their specific needs, from family hauling to grocery runs to daily commutes. Modularity wasn't just a feature; it became the core of the product story.

Motivated form giving

By shifting the vanishing point of the frames construction lines, we could change how the design feels at first glance. Placing it higher gives the bike a light, nimble character. While lowering it pulls the stance closer to the ground, giving the design a sportier presence.

Product family

Alongside the Dost Crate, we designed a complete family of electric bikes that share a common design language and manufacturing molds, keeping production costs down without compromising on quality.

A green, 2-wheeled pickup truck

The Crate is a longtail cargo bike built around one idea: fit everything. Alongside the bike, we designed 7 accessories and ensured compatibility with a wide range of third-party add-ons and future options. A double MIK rear carrier accommodates two child seats or swappable accessories, stays support up to four side pannier bags, and footboards double as flatpack carriers, all working together across multiple configurations. The result is a cargo platform that adapts to almost any load, any errand, any day.
