Fulpra
Quatro Canopy
Value delivered
A cargo bike that carries like a van has to protect like one, too. For the Fulpra Quatro, VROEGH redesigned the full canopy so riders stay dry and confident in city traffic, while pedestrians stay safe around it and complement the existing vehicle looks.

Vehicle character
Developed several canopy directions in line with the trailer design, each dialing character up or down, from friendly and rounded to sharper and more technical, giving Fulpra a clear choice on how the Quatro would be perceived on the street.
Windscreen advise
Fulpra's first instinct was a continuous windscreen from the front bumper to the roof. Beautiful from a design and user perspective but adding complexity and cost, while reducing room for the rider.
Windscreen wiper placement
The placement of the windscreen wiper motor was a blindspot in the Fulpra design. Based on our feedback Fulpra revised the position based on the size and complexity.

A fresh face
The starting point was a concept that had to hold three tensions at once: modular yet cohesive, rugged yet defined, friendly yet professional. We proposed three directions from that brief, modern, professional and friendly. Fulpra chose friendly, then layered in a set of technical requirements: reduce the curve of the windshield, cut the overhang as far as possible, and push the indicators outward.
Final design
The final proposal brings canopy and trailer together with minimal overhang, keeping the friendly, modern character intact by letting the wheel arches flow naturally into the front bumper. The flatter windshield does double duty: it opens up interior space and cuts down the visual distortion that curved glass adds to the outward view.
The most significant change is the changed position of the windshield wipers from the top to the bottom of the windshield. Resulting in a simpler design with better visibility for the rider.
