Meet the Swapfiets Power Plus
The Swapfiets Power Plus is an e-bike tailored to the needs of cyclists who want to carry heavy cargo safely and with ease. For Swapfiets it was key to take the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) as a key metric, in line with their business model. As a result, the Swapfiets Power Plus is a component-agnostic e-bike with long battery life, unique geometry, and stable driving characteristics under heavy load. Production has started and the first bikes can be seen in multiple European cities.
Data-driven decisions
For Swapfiets, the true cost of a bicycle plays out over years — not at the point of purchase. To design around that reality, multi-year data was gathered directly from mechanics, making real-world maintenance patterns the foundation of every design decision.
The goal was clear: a bike loved by cyclists and appreciated by the technicians keeping it on the road. Every component and repair touchpoint was designed to support Swapfiets' in-store repair target of under 10 minutes.
The ideal bicycle for heavy cargo
Backed by a deep understanding of the target group, a well-defined customer journey, and years of engineering expertise, the companies created a bicycle that remains safe to drive even with 60 kg of cargo weight. The front and rear carriers are versatile, making it an ideal bike for various cargo uses. Achieving such a multipurpose, high-utility status was challenging and required uniquely developed mechanical innovations. Whether it's a pizza box, a fully loaded shopping bag, or a child in a safe seat, the Power Plus can transport it all without a problem.

Compared to traditional e-bike geometries, the Power Plus has a unique geometry to not only fit a huge part of the population, but to ensure a comfortable riding experience in the process.
